Kirsten is the most generous tutor I have had! Nothing is too much trouble, no question stupid and no mistake unsolvable. She instantly puts you at ease and makes each individual feel as important as the next. Her enthusiasm for her craft is infectious and her genuine interest in her students ideas makes for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
With Kirsten you get to cut, hammer, solder, polish and actually make silver jewellery, learning alongside a friendly, highly skilled silversmith. Kirsten is approachable and supportive about ideas and individual projects and is generous with her knowledge! Her classes always fly by in an atmosphere of good humour and creativity. What’s not to like!!
Upon meeting Kirsten I noticed straight away that she’s easy to talk to and friendly which really helps you settle in.
As a complete beginner I felt that I’d learnt so much in just a few classes. Enough so that I bought some basic tools and had a go at home, alongside attending the class.
As a jeweller and teacher, Kirsten is extremely knowledgeable, approachable and nothing is too much trouble.
I am now making my own jewellery and looking to start my own business. Kirsten has not only given me the knowledge to do this but also the confidence and inspiration to have a go.
I’ve attended a number of Kirsten’s classes and really enjoy them. She’s patient, explains techniques clearly and has a great sense of humour. I always come way after a fun day with the confidence to carry on with my new skills.
Kirsten is very warm and welcoming, patient and nothing was to much trouble. I came along with ideas of what I wanted to learn and then we set out a plan of action. I learnt so much in that time and interest and enthusiasm grew. I am now building my own work shop in my garden. I still have so many techniques to learn and Kirsten is a fab teacher.
I just wanted to say thank you for a fabulous day and all your help and support.
I had a great time and I’m really pleased with what I achieved and look forward to trying something new, at the workshop, very soon.
Thank you so much for all your help and support since I’ve been attending the classes, you are such a lovely teacher and have made the classes just what I was looking for.
Thank you, Kirsten, for giving me a good start, I’ve been curious about jewellery making for quite a while.
Thank you so much for all your amazing lessons, I feel like I have learned a lot. I feel so privileged to have been able to learn from you and I am now left with lots of enthusiasm and inspiration for my new adventure of making jewellery!
I tried a day course making stacking rings and was so amazed that after just a few hours of tuition I was able to produce 6 silver rings!
I decided to sign up for a weekly course and have really enjoyed the sessions. You come up with design ideas (they can be as simple as you like) and the tutors show you the techniques you need and guide you through the processes.
Throughout the course you are also taught how to tackle specifics like the basics of soldering, shaping, stone setting, creating textures etc and the tutors are always on hand to help – and they don’t mind if you need a lot of hand – holding!
The classes are friendly, casual and supportive. If it’s something you’ve always fancied, I would recommend giving it a go – I have found learning new creative skills fun and satisfying.
I like silver jewellery, but I had no idea how to even begin to start working with it. I knew one end of a hammer from the other, but that was about it. Attending Kirsten’s classes has given me so much more than the skill to create jewellery from design to finished piece, the classes give me confidence in my life too – knowing that there is something impressive I can make.
If you are wondering whether to take a chance on one of her classes, do give it a go, Kirsten can cope with complete beginners and experienced jewellers. She is a knowledgeable, friendly, supportive tutor who knows just how to help people realise their jewellery dreams.
