Make Your Own Wedding Bands
Making your own wedding bands is an unforgettable experience. Wedding bands provide a life long symbol of your marriage and commitment together so the process of making them is just as important. There is no better way to start married life having spent the day together forging your own wedding rings, learning a new skill together.
You will have the workshop to yourselves and the full support of your tutor to help you through every step of the process giving you the freedom to create your very own wedding bands while teaching you the traditional skills of jewellery and silversmithing. You will be supported throughout the whole process in our welcoming, professionally equipped workshop to ensure you bands are perfect. You are not required to have any jewellery making experience.
You will finish the session with a glass of Prosecco to celebrate the creation of your very own wedding bands.
The day includes refreshments, lunch and snacks, and a glass of Prosecco.
The cost of the course is £420 not including materials, but the final price will vary depending on your requirements of the rings themselves.
Your bands can be sent off for hallmarking for £50 for both bands and you are then either welcome to collect your bands in person, or we will post your rings to you using Royal Mail’s Special Delivery Service. Hallmarking is not compulsory.
It is best to get in touch first to discuss your requirements and time schedule as it is a very personal and important piece of jewellery, we want to make sure the whole experience is perfect and suits your needs.
A good place to start is to look online on a platform such as Pinterest to decide on the style of bands you are looking to create. We have put together a Pinterest board to help outline the style of bands which you will be able to work on at Workshop 925.
If you would like engraving or stones set, we can also quote for this service.
We will also need to know your ring sizes so we can cost up the material fees. To do this you can go to any high street jeweller and ask to be sized. Once we know the style of the bands you are aiming to achieve and ring sizes, we can then put together a quote and timings for your day and suggest possible dates.
If you have some old jewellery you would like to melt down to repurpose, that is not a problem. If you are able to photograph your gathered scrap and also weigh it, that will help us calculate if you will require additional casting grain to create both bands.
