WHAT DOES THE DAY INVOLVE?
Take your stone setting to the next level with this fantastic masterclass with master craftsman Stephen Barnett.
In this class you will be looking at the professional techniques for creating fields of Pavè from scratch. Stephen will talk and demonstrate the methods to layout the stones to form neat rows and patterns with the correct tolerances for setting, how to drill and open the holes to fit the stones and explain how to raise the grains to secure the stones in place. You will then move onto finishing and bright cutting borders.
By the end of the day you will have a strong understanding of how set a full field of Pavè using traditional tools and techniques. You will spend the day practising these learnt techniques working on your own practice pieces, setting stones into silver provided on the day.
These techniques can then be applied to a multitude of your jewellery designs to Pavè your pieces in fine diamonds or other stones in order to create beautiful diamond covered pieces.
As always with advance stone setting, we strongly recommend you set aside some time after your course to practice the skills you learn to develop your technique.
We will be in touch the week of your course with full details and directions and any other helpful information we think will be of use for the day.
